Zuhair Murad Haute Couture A/W 2018/19 - One Dark Wintry Night In A Russian Palace Tolstoy Characters In Search Of A Story Take To The Dance Floor

It's no longer Russian aristocrats who take to the dance floors of the Russian royal palaces, so for Haute Couture A/W 2018/19 Zuhair Murad has created a wardrobe for the rich and beautiful who now walk the red carpets of the world. Imagining the long gone Russian Royal Family he starts with an embroidered folk gown and a stunning military suit made with golden epaulettes and embroidery. Paired with a jewel studded crown belt. The jewel embroidery, crystals and beading is exquisite on the gowns and military dress jackets. As detailed as the fabulous Faberge eggs. In regal crown designs and such rich colours; reds, unexpected khaki, elegant blacks, silver greys, an ice-blue skater skirt dress with snowflake designs; naturally. And royal blues in floor length sequins and regal burgundy wines with sashes in satin and velvet. A playsuit was as studded with jewels as a Russian Orthodox Church Icon. And the white gowns with golden embroidery a fitting finale for a Tolstoy tsarina. Her bridal gown an epic in the haute couture storyline. Zuhair said that the gowns in velvet, damask, duchesse satin and chiffon had taken thousands and thousands of hours to create. But they are so worth it.
