Givenchy Haute Couture A/W 2018 - Clare Waight Keller's Red-carpet Designs For A Duchess

After seeing so much outsize streetwear on the runways it was such a pleasure to see the simple elegant designs for Givenchy Couture A/W 2018 by Clare Waight Keller. Her first couture show after the success of her Royal Weddding gown for Meghan. The slim fitted skirts and trousers, the pleated silk and velvet gowns embellished with sequins, feathers and flower petals, and the heavily sequinned silver gowns were all gorgeous. Clare's lovely Givenchy bows and cape trims worked well with her tunic style gowns. A particularly spangly look for the bow wrapped black gown and trousers showed a blink and miss sequin lining. As did the menswear lining. The bib front shirt was also made of sparkly sequins, and Clare fashioned breastplates and belts in silver metal. All the better to shine in the flash lights when these couture pieces go out to party. Not so sure about the peek-a-boo coat, that surely must be a Rihanna piece, but there was plenty here for a duchess or two to enjoy.
