Scarlett Johansson Wears Marchesa At The Met Ball 2018 - Well Played Scarlett - The Red Carpet Is Where Marchesa Belong

Scarlett Johansson wore Marchesa at Monday night's Met Ball. Because she said the gowns make women feel beautiful and confident, and they are beautiful designs by two talented and important designers. And she wasn't following the theme of The Met Ball by any means, but it was a power move by a powerful voice in Hollywood, and the gown has caused a conversation surrounding the punishing of Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig for Harvey Weinstein's actions. Scarlett chose the gown because it was gorgeous, and she looked beautiful in the burgundy tulle and floral design.

Satchel has always supported Marchesa and wrote a piece in October, below, when the Weinstein scandal was at it's peak with the Me Too's. But the girls carried on creating their beautiful designs and maybe now it's time for actresses to give the designers their heavyweight support. Karen Elson modelled their stunning  Ready to Wear for A/W 18/19 in a studio set rather than a runway show back in February.

Sandra Bullock Wears Marchesa For Oscar Win 2010

I've been reading how Marchesa may now be sidelined by actresses following the Harvey Weinstein revelations. If that happens then it is a very sad result for Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig who have created the most amazing gowns over many years of red carpet dressing. And if actresses have been persuaded to wear Marchesa gowns because of their association with the Weinstein film brand, then they can only hope that they looked as good as Sandra Bullock when she wore Marchesa for her 2010 Oscar win for The Blind Side. There is no justification for Harvey's actions but don't punish the designers.

Sandra gave good red carpet in this dress.

And it was even better with golden Oscar.

The silver beaded column with embroidered illusion bodice was the perfect gown for the night.

And Sandra looked amazing.
