Elie Saab Paris Ready-to-Wear A/W 2018/19

A fabulous collection from Elie Saab for A/W Ready-to-Wear with Victorian high necks, slim fit boots and lovely riding hats. Predominantly black it was the complete opposite of Elie's recent couture collection, and I'm sure we'll see gowns from both collections at Sunday's Oscars. The Pearly Kings & Queens rhinestone jackets seemed odd at first but they developed in the Victorian era so I see why Elie added a selection of them to the collection. And the heavily embroidered blouses were totally in keeping with the era. But it wasn't all Victorian with the Edwardian waists from the lovely leather corsets and 40's style dresses and jackets. One particularly lovely off the shoulder teal lace dress really stood out worn with a scarf. The tulle flower embroidered gowns were very pretty and the golden sequinned tulle outfits. The pleated sequin skirt and gown were also very pretty.
