Carolina Herrera New York Ready-to-Wear A/W 2018/1...

The Grand Dame of Fashion Carolina Herrera, who has showered us for years with the loveliest fashions, yesterday took her final bow as she leaves the floor to Wes Gordon, while she moves to Consulting. And her show was a greatest hits, including a nod to the 9-5, as she produced some lovely workwear, especially the skirt with tulle section. But Carolina's strength is evening wear and the red carpet, and she didn't disappoint. The zingy lemon dress was an acid drop and the line up included great tuxedos in black and red with satin trousers. But it's the gowns and they were terrific. The one shoulder blue that Ruth Bell wore was very pretty and the turquoise was beautiful. In white or cream it was an ideal Meghan Sparkle wedding gown. Understated but classic. And of course the red gown, and Carolina's taffeta ballgown skirts with white shirts that were simple, but the embodiment of chic.
