Vera Wang New York Bridal Week A/W 2018

I hoped that Vera Wang would develop the themes that she presented in Paris for her Ready-to-Wear S/S 2018 and she has done a fantastic job for her bridal A/W 2018 collection. Riffing on the shapes she developed for the Spring collection I think these designs speak to me of romance in the time of The Musketeers. And with a classical artistry quite unlike the modern styles of last season. Created in confections of buff, ivory and white with handmade details including Chantilly lace, macrame, silk flowers, feathers and tulle. The coquettish corsets are gorgeous and the three quarter sleeves a nice touch. Vera wanted to develop Dior themes and Grace Kelly classical designs. And with yards of full ballgown skirts I cannot help thinking that these are the gowns of our dreams.
