Vera Wang Paris Fashion Week Ready-to-Wear S/S 2018

Not on the official show schedule but Vera Wang showed her S/S 2018 collection in Paris yesterday. I absolutely love it. Of course The Handmaid's Tale bonnets were striking but these weren't outfits to be seen out on the Gilead street. Maybe Jezebels inspired the suspender trims, but this was all beautiful couture style from Vera. It has memories of John Singer Sargent and the Gilded Age of the US in the late 1800s. The romantic corset designs were just stunning in blacks. plaid and sequins. Maybe not particularly Spring accessible in the black and plaid, but the slip dresses and chainmail styles are light and lovely, and the darker designs just about perfect for a stylish 9-5. Maybe adding the long skirts for evening wear with the lovely shirts they scream Amanda Harlech, and she would be a beauty in them. A gorgeous collection and it will be interesting to see Vera's new bridal designs. These styles could add a whole new dimension to the collection.
