Maison Margiela John Galliano Paris Fashion Week Ready-to-Wear S/S 2018

John Galliano at Maison Margiela is a fashion genius on the runway whose deconstructed designs are then diluted by the high street and served back to us. Here he riffs again on his trenchcoat theme that was such a highlight of the grab and go couture show back in July. And for ready-to-wear John's designs are pack and go for S/S 2018, with travel the main theme. And its perfect. Now whether you can see yourself in any of these designs at the airport is beside the point, but I'm sure we can all imagine ourselves in the stress of the airport when we might as well check ourselves in. First class of course. And the new Glam Slam pillow bag is the perfect travelling companion.

John's designs also speak to me of a fashion shoot themed at a festival. You know the non muddy festival I mean. Maybe SXSW with the feathers. And a successful show also has to have kerb appeal as they say. Well I'm sure you can imagine wearing these, or some of these designs to the perfect office and then out for drinks afterwards. Which brings us back to the perfect trenchcoats in gauze and golden accents.
