Dior Paris Haute-Couture A/W 2017

Maria Grazia Chiuri presented an A/W 2017 couture collection today for Christian Dior and it was amazing. With the theme being 'Around the World', but the clothes being quintessentially Parisian. Looking back to the New Look skirt suits of Monsieur Dior, they always make me think of the costumes for David Hare's play Plenty, set in the early 50's, which obviously took their inspiration from Dior. But the designs are incredible in the most wonderful grey palette with a lipstick red thrown in to mix it up. The amazing embroidery adds colour as does the patchwork coat of many colours. Maria is lucky to have such a great foundation to work with at Dior, and I think her talent there will just keep growing. And the Dior muses are very lucky that when it comes to dressing for a red carpet event they will have their pick of these designs. I would advise you to order the complete collection.
