The Bloody Difficult Woman Has Some Difficult Explaining To Do

So last night wasn't quite the landslide that Theresa May and the Nasty party expected. Rather egg on face and good luck to them. Jeremy Corbyn's Labour vote held up and he conducted a campaign as an honourable man sticking to the policies he believed in. Unlike Mother Theresa who thought she was so secure in the polls she could introduce any despicable policy and still win. But she forgot that an Englishman's home is his castle. And woe betide any politician who attacks it.

And of course the SNP suffered heavily with their losses. We say farewell especially to Alex Salmond and Angus Robertson in Parliament. You won't be missed.

But I think the most surprising loss was for the Liberal Democrat's Nick Clegg. Although a return for Vince Cable, Ed Davey and the incredibly arrogant Jo Swinson. All three were suitably punished for jumping into bed with the Tories in 2010. And feathering their own political careers. Both Vince and Ed disgracefully were given knighthoods for their failure to retain their seats. But now all three get another bite at the cherry on the Westminster gravy train. Nick meanwhile for his political service, and failure to retain Sheffield Hallam, will no doubt be elevated to the nonsense of a peerage.

Zac Goldsmith meanwhile returns after winning Richmond Park. He originally won the seat opposing a third runway at Heathrow, resigned when the third runway was given the go ahead, and then lost as an Independent in the seat's by-election. Then stood as the Conservative choice against Labour for London Mayor. And lost again. Again stands as a Conservative for Richmond Park and lo and behold he get's re-elected. Green policies and Heathrow be damned. He's back in Parliament.

But that said, congratulations must go to the Scottish Tories under Ruth Davidson, who pulled off some sort of Tory miracle in Scotland. A very impressive woman.

And maybe Wales must be quaking in the hills as they see any money they may have received, now being diverted to Northern Ireland....

A fun new future ahead. And Brexit negotiations start in 11 days.

Not looking so Strong and Stable now Theresa?
