Les Compagnons De La Grappe Restaurant Lille

First evening in Lille and we wandered around looking for dinner and happened upon Les Compagnons de la Grappe. It didn't open until 7 so the maître d' invited us to peruse the menu while we waited as the busy team laid out the tables in the courtyard. Another couple came in but suggested to themselves that they try somewhere a bit more lively. Big mistake. Within a few minutes of opening the terrace tables were full with locals and a smattering of Brits.

A lovely and attractive team kept the plates spinning as more would be eaters queued. We eventually moved inside for coffee and gave our gratefully received terrace table up.

An unexpectedly full Tuesday evening we though but the restaurant is always busy we were told. So go early if you want to enjoy their rustic charm.
