Stella Tennant Met Ball 2017 Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between

I give up, I cannot find the collection that the Comme des Garcons dress that Stella Tennant wore at the Met Ball is from.

But going through Rei Kawabuko's collections back to 2003 has been very interesting. No wonder the Met decided to honour her work, I would suggest her back catalogue is the go-to point for many designers. Such an interesting colection, it was a pleasure to go through her designs and see how she has made her stamp on fashion.

And maybe if Stella had decided to riff on the Comme theme she might have worn Molly Goddard.

This avant garde gown from Molly's A/W 2017 collection would have been perfect on Monday's Met Ball red carpet.

Stella is the striking sort of woman who could carry off the layered net gown. Her Mitford relatives didn't give a damn about the convention of the times they lived in and Stella is a chip off the old block.
