Pippa Middleton's Wedding Dress

It's the big wedding next week of Pippa Middleton. Although not to diss on her choice of rich and handsome groom, I can't help wondering whether Mother Middleton isn't silently grinding her teeth, after the lovely Hugh Grosvenor was announced as the world's richest young person under 30, in the Sunday Times Rich List. With assets of £9.3 billion, young Hugh at 26, is the world's most eligible man. And would surely have been the first choice of Pippa's parents. A man richer than the Royal Family and 9th richest in the country. And who can blame her parents wishing the best for their two daughters. One married to the future King of England, and the other married to the 7th Duke of Westminster, a man as rich as Croesus. And in real life Monopoly he owns Mayfair and Belgravia. And is friends with the royal in-laws. Two Duchess in the one family. Not bad going. There is an age gap with Pippa being older than Hugh, but we've seen recently in France with the very stylish Brigitte Trogneux, that that is not a problem.

But we can only wish Pippa the best of luck for her forthcoming marriage, and expect lots of holiday snaps of the new couple at St Barths' Eden Roc; the groom's family hotel.

And while we wait to see who Pippa will wear next week, Hello magazine asked some well known bridal designers to create their own designs for Pippa.

Ben De Lisi sketched this lovely and traditional couture gown in silk crepe, with French lace on the neckline and three-quarter length sleeves.

Monique Lhuillier makes fairy tale gowns and for Pippa she imagined this glamorous fishtail dress with long sleeves, and a daring open back. (We know how important the back of the dress can be!) The cathedral veil adding a regal dash.

Jacques Azagury created this empire line gown to add height for Pippa. And to complement her athletic figure he imagined the silk crepe gown would feature long sleeves and a sweeping veil.

Rosa Clará went completely the other way and imagined Pippa in this very modern georgette silhouette with a round neckline and elegant long sleeves.

Stéphane Rolland also imagined Pippa in a modern dress. The white taffeta dress with silk crepe bodice, would be studded with crystals and pearls. The skirt would be caught in a puffball style to show off her athletic legs and the bodice would be backless.

I love this one but feel that it's a bit too racy for Pippa who is usually very neat and stylish.

Remember the elegant bridesmaid dress Pippa wore at sister Kate's wedding, shown here in this Pippa Middleton Bridesmaid Doll.

I'm sure she'll be a beautiful bride on her special day. And we all get the day off for the big event.
