Sergio Garcia Wins The Masters Green Jacket

After a gorgeous break taking on the Links courses of the UK's North East Coast, a golfing week was rounded off with a terrific Masters win by Sergio Garcia. I so wanted him to win. He's come so close to winning a Major and never quite pulled it off. But after midnight last night UK time, the green jacket had a distinctly Spanish flavour. And to win on what would have been the 60th birthday of Seve Ballesteros made the win extra sweet.

But Justin Rose made Sergio work hard for the title. And gave golfing viewers a bonus with a play-off. But Sergio won the title. And although Justin must have been disappointed he has a Rio Olympics Golf Gold medal. And it's the only one. So I hope the disappointment last night wasn't too huge.

But the night belonged to Sergio and the man deserved all the glory. So happy for him.

And he now joins that special club of green jacket winners at Augusta.

Huge congratulations.
