The Huntsman: Winter's War Film

Catching up on movies this week. And I do like a fairy tale. The Huntsman: Winter's War starred the Sisters Grimm. Ravenna and Freya. Ravenna so evil and Freya so perfect and lovely. Until a heart-breaking moment when everything changed.

The sisters separate and with Ravenna dead, younger sister Freya fulfils her destiny. Creating an army to build her a kingdom. A frozen Narnia world with no room for love. But fate turns on a dime and a Magic Mirror can bring back the past to change the future.

With a cast of beautiful queens and kick ass warriors. Both short and tall. The movie pitches where it needs to be to entertain. The magical creatures delightful and the baddies as bad as they come.

Critics are never kind. And if they didn't like the movie then more fool them. Charlize Theron and Emily Blunt were magnificent in their majesty. Chris Hemsworth and Jessica Chastain beautiful lovers forever entwined. And special mention to Nick Frost, Rob Brydon, Sheridan Smith and Alexandra Roach as bickering dwarves.

And my first nomination for next year's Oscars for Best Costume goes to Colleen Atwood for her amazing costumes. What beautiful works of art. They are worth the admission price alone.

For magical entertainment it was perfect.
